The great news is that you don’t have to have a game in TegraZone to pick up an awesome prize. If you vote you can enter to win one of seven prize packs. Best Motorola Droid Accessories
A co-worker recently told me about this great place to find phone accessories – phone cases, ipad covers, keyboard covers, everything. She had everything Apple but since I have a Droid I wasn’t sure what I would find. Luckily they have a great assortment of accessories like cases and skins for the Motorola Droid series – including my Droid 2.
HandHeldItems.com has everything categorized by manufacturer and model so it was easy to find the one for my phone. The main page is Motorola Cellular Phone Accessories, but on the left hand side you can choose the exact model.
I got a blue cover plus some screen protectors for a great price and free shipping.

HTC Rezound (Verizon): Android for Music Lovers
Here’s one of the newer phones that’s made just for music lovers. The HTC Rezound comes with a pair of Dr. Dre Beats in-ear headphones and special software to give music playback extra clarity and bass.
Here’s a picture of the HTC Rezound made for the Verizon network:
According to The New York Times:
This thickish phone was the first in the United States with a true high-definition screen (1280 by 720 pixels, 4.3 inches) — sharper than even the iPhone’s Retina screen. Even the front-facing camera can film 720p high-def video, which is a rarity. The rest of the specs are the usual on high-end phones these days: 8-megapixel rear camera, 10 gigabytes of built-in storage for your apps and a memory-card slot if you need more room (a 16-gigabyte card comes with the phone).
I would be interested to see this phone for the screen resolution as well as to test the music quality.
Galaxy Nexus by Samsung and Google

This phone is available on the Sprint and Verizon networks, depending on where you live.
It has the latest version of Android, 4.0.
Kindle Fire Named Best Android Tablet by PC Magazine
Looking for the best android powered tablet? PC Magazine says look no further than the new Kindle Fire from Amazon.
The first easy-to-use, affordable small-screen tablet, the Android-based Amazon Kindle Fire is revolutionary. While the user interface occasionally gets sluggish, we’re willing to have a bit of patience to get a first-rate tablet for half of what most competitors charge, thus the Kindle Fire is our first Editors’ Choice for small tablets.
I have heard a lot of good things from friends who have already gotten their Kindle Fire. It’s one of the hottest gifts this Christmas!

WordPress on the go with Android
Today I discovered another reason to love Android phones. I serve as a web editor for Laity Lodge Youth Camp. I got an email from Bonner, one of our on site authors. She had written a post about how they were celebrating the 4th of July. I didn’t want to wait to get that post up.
So I logged into WordPress with the browser on my phone. Amazingly the admin displayed nearly identically to Firefox on my laptop. I previewed th post, make a couple of minor changes, then publish!
And now I’m here posting this the same way.
Have You Tried Turning it On and Off Again?
So this morning the audio on my cell phone went out again. Yes the replacement phone. I couldn’t believe it. So I called Verizon support again. This time the agent asked if I’d taken out the battery and replaced it again. Ummm No. So I powered off the phone. Removed the back and removed the battery. Waited 30 seconds. Put the battery back in and power up. The agent gave me a call and low and behold it worked!
He said that with android phones, at least this model, doing this will reset the software and fixes a variety of problems. (I just hope that this is not a recurring problem!)
This reminded me of the first rule of computer tech support…
